Material notes:
This is a remnant left over from large parts that we manufacture.
There may be some
scratches, stains, dirt, discoloration or even an occasional footprint
on the surface due to storage and handling.
These discs were rough machined round on a CNC mill, not saw cut.
These discs have sharp corners (not de-burred) so handle them with care.
Both faces of the plate are factory finished. We only machine the edge (OD) of the plate.
Diameters may deviate slightly.
Calculated weight is approximate due to slight thickness and diameter variation.
We buy mostly Mic-6 but we don't guarantee this material to meet Mic-6 specs because we buy from three manufacturers.
This material could be from any of these companies:
Mic-6 by Alcoa (previously by Alumax)
K100 by Alpase
Alca Plus is no longer available (previously by Alcoa before they bought the Mic-6 line from Alumax)
It has been our experience that the products from these manufacturers are very similar.
All of the manufacturers that we buy from have similar specifications and, for our purposes, they are all the same.
We use cast tooling plate because, with this material, our parts do not warp or distort due to machining.
Cast tooling plate is the most dimensionally stable aluminum that we have ever machined!

A pile of Alcoa Mic-6 tooling plate before machining. This material is great! It says flat and is dimensionally stable.
