ntique German dessert silver flatware set,comprising six knives and six forks.
Design is typical for
Art Nouveau
period.
Handles(not filled) are made of 800 Silver and the blades are made of Gilt Steel. Original box.
Circa 1890-1900.Each item is hallmarked with identical distinctive hallmarks used to mark the German Silverware
after 1888 : combo of crescent,crown and silver purity hallmarks.
Marks of the maker  present – letters
F.Z.M
,Franz Mosgau ,Berlin.Active 1807-1900 .
Measurements: Knives : about 13.5 cm long each,forks : about 13.2 cm long.
Weight: Each knife  is about 14 grams heavy,there are some deviations.
Each fork is about 12 grams heavy,there are some deviations.
Total weight : 154 grams
Used condition.No noticeable physical damages/repairs on any of the units. All tines of the forks intact.
Two forks show misfit of the steel parts that stick out silver handles a bit.
Wear to gilt areas, small spots and scratches.The condition corresponds with age and wear.
All none-silver parts are marked "Stahl" (German) or "Steel "in English.Original box in decent shape,wear to textile,spots
I don't know if the  blades and tines are made of ordinary Steel or Stainless steel that became industrially available  in 1890s.
