Antique Sterling Silver Whiting Old English Engraved Floral Punch/Soup Ladle

Description

Presented is an antique, solid sterling silver punch or soup ladle made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This piece is in the Old English pattern, which was patented in 1890. The front of the handle is beautifully hand engraved with a floral pattern. The handle has never been engraved.
The back of the handle is marked for Whiting, sterling silver and has a retailer's mark for N. Hyman & Company.
This piece is in great condition for its age. The engraved handle is crisp. The bowl has some wear commensurate with age and use.
