Famous Front Pages from the Miami Herald, Newspaper 1912 to 1970 lot
These have been tightly rolled in the original tube that my grandma ordered them with a 1973 postage stamp. I marked them as used instead of new but they appear to have been rolled in that tube since she got them.
I took them out to photograph each side of the 12 papers. I have not gotten them rolled back tight enough to go in the original shipping tube yet.
There are 12 papers printed front and back so 24 headlines.
Dates range from 1912 to 1970
If they have a coaster on them in the photo they are on the back of one of the ones without a coaster. (not shown because I reached the photo limit of 12) Since this is for the entire set and I don't want to handle them any more than I did to photograph them I can't say which headline is on the front or back of a given copy. I shot them all one side, then reversed the order to shoot the backs.
These go for more than per page and I've seen where some have had them framed like for a restaurant for some cool decor from the past.
Some of the headlines are:
MAN WALKS ON THE MOON
MARTIN LUTHER KING IS SLAIN
KENNEDY DEAD
JAPAN WARS ON U.S. PLANS BOMB HAWAII
WAR ENDS
STEAMER TITANIC GOES TO BOTTOM WITH OVER FIFTEEN HUNDRED SOULS
TWO WOUNDED BY SHOTS AT ROOSEVELT MEETING
HINDENBURG BLOWS UP; 100 ON BOARD
INVASION LAUNCHED
4 OHIO STUDENTS SLAIN AS TROOPS OPEN FIRE
