    Description

Did your relative work at the Norfolk Navy Yard during World War II? This four page newspaper is a fascinating glimpse at this busy facility during  the War. Date is July 22, 1942, Vol. 1, No. 11. The cover features a full page ad for war bonds. The rest of the newspaper contains dozens of names of workers and activities at the Navy Yard. Maybe your ancestor is there! My grandfather worked there throughout the War. One interesting item announces that per diem employees were going to receive an increase in pay, averaging eight cents an hour! This is a treasure trove of information on individuals working there -- marriages, promotions, gossipy tidbits, etc. All pages are intact, no rips or tears. Some discoloration that does not detract from the images or writing. I will mail for .00. Thanks for looking and bidding.
