Description

Presented is a rare, antique, Irish provincial sterling silver punch or soup ladle made during the last quarter of the 18th century. This piece was made by John or James Warner of Cork around the 1790s. The front of the pointed tip handle is finely hand engraved with a crest of a rampant lion holding a cross below an Irish star design. This is a huge piece of good weight! This piece is old, fabulous quality construction.
The back is marked sterling and IW for John or James Warner.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. The designs are crisp and there is only minimal surface wear.
